Anniversary Multi-Lock Milling Chuck - Advanced
It has been over 40 years since Nikken developed the multi-lock milling chuck. Our development team have developed the latest generation universal chuck which we refer to as a Nikken 'Anniversary Type' Multi-Lock Milling Chuck. One key feature of the Multi-Lock is the -90°C 'Sub-Zero' ultra-low temperature treatment that the holder is subjected to after carburizing. All Anniversary Type Multi-Lock Milling Chucks incorporate our exclusive multi-roller system incorporating 140% more needle rollers and therefore bearing surface area than imitations. The retainer is NOT made of phosphor bronze but rather a special steel which will never break. |  |
 | Clamping at the nose is a key condition for precise milling. Surface finish and tool life are decided on clamping at the nose, rigidity and run-our accuracy. Only Nikken's mechanism performs true clamping at the nose. This makes the Anniversary Type Multi-Lock Milling Chuck ideal for heavy milling to fine finishing. |
With the Nikken Anniversary Multi-Lock Milling Chuck it is possible to obtain a run-out accuracy of 5µm (T.I.R) at a position of 100mm from the nose (3 x dia. on C32 size). The Multi-Lock holds the cutting tool shank by deforming the cylindrical part of the body with pressure from the needle roller bearings - this deformation is parallel and consistent for the entire length of the chuck bore. |  |
The Multi-Lock Advanced version features a precision ground nose ring with no notches to allow high-speed rotation. Balanced to enhance high speed operation clamping is achieved by using the Nikken GH Handle. The handle incorporates a special Cam and Bearing arrangement to grip the external diameter when tightening or untightening.
