Khyan-TW Hybrid Tool Presetter a great addition for Pro-Cut Tooling Ltd
Pro-Cut Tooling Ltd based on the Acorn Industrial Estate in Hull has recently acquired a Khyan-TW hybrid tool presetter from Nikken Kosakusho Europe Ltd. Steve Wymes, a director of Pro-Cut explained that the latest Kyhan-TW model which is manufactured by Elbo Controlli in Italy and distributed by Nikken in the UK "met all our requirements and importantly could be purchased within the tight budget we had set ourselves to provide an off-machine tool inspection solution"
The Khyan-TW features a ground granite and stainless steel construction and incorporates a single high-definition screen which is linked to two optical cameras, each with digital zoom (2x & 4x) capabilities. The 50 taper spindle has an innovative universal mechanical clamping system with electronic clamping confirmation and the unit ships with complete software tool management system to ensure productivity improvements are maximised.
The unique 90 degree top swivel camera system allows any cutting tools to be viewed from the top (tool end) as well as from the side of the tool itself. Using the second camera it is possible to measure the tool in both the traditional way (as per the primary camera) and then to check and inspect the geometry of any tool using the outstanding 70x optical zoom capability of this secondary camera.
Karl Medley, the Business Manager from Nikken who first highlighted the capabilities of the Khyan-TW to Steve Wymes believes that "the unit gives Pro-Cut Tooling an exceedingly powerful back-up tool measuring system at a price point that no other solution could match.
